At midnight November 26, Flight 8L834 from Penang, Malaysia landed at Kunming Changshui International Airport. The pilot was Mr. Pablo Peláez, Spanish captain of Lucky Air. With 27 years of flying experience, Captain Peláez just completed his last flying mission and will devote his passion to music and public welfare.

Excellent Foreign Captain from A Family of Pilots as His Guidance
Pablo Peláez grew up in a pilot family. In 1990, inspired by his pilot father and his godfather, Pablo vowed to become a pilot at a young age. In his 27 years of flying career, he has been up in the air for well over 15,000 hours.
And yet, Pablo would still bring a group photo of his father, his godfather and his childhood self to every flying mission. With wise guidance from his father and his godfather, Pablo inherited their unsurpassed flying ideal and transported every passenger safe and sound. He had completed the sacred mission time and again over the sky of Germany, the United State, and now China.
In 2016, accompanied by curiosity and longing for oriental culture, Pablo came to China. That February, he joined Lucky Air. During his tenure, Pablo strictly carried out his duties and was actively involved in the operation and management of the company along with the other pilots from over 10 countries in the five continents around the globe. Seasoned in flying along with his professionalism, Pablo had accumulated more than 800 hours of flight with Lucky Air and completed his curtain call here as a pilot.

Pianist on the CloudSoul-searching through Music
In his dashing pilot uniform, Pablo looks handsome and carefree. Perfect interpretation of a captain. Removing the uniform, Pablo has another identity: Spanish composer and pianist.
In 1969, Pablo first got interested in music at age seven. He was a flutist at school. By age 11, he started playing the piano. He later graduated from the Royal High School of Music in Madrid and continued working on piano composing, live performances, movie scoring and other music projects. 11 years ago, he performed publicly for the first time as a pianist and held many solo concerts over the years. At Lucky Air, he has also developed many loyal followers.
For Pablo, being a pilot is sacred. He always puts passengers’ safety as his top priority. Meanwhile, he enjoys a good conversation with passengers from all over the world. As a musician, he is focused on the self-development by conversing with his soul. He once described the relationship between music and oneself: Every note is myself. I'm in my music.
Open the Lucky Gate through Lucky Air into an Even Richer Life
This was Pablo's last day as a pilot. At 4 PM, the sun just started to slope on the tarmac at Kunming Changshui International Airport. Like the numerous flights before, Captain Pablo completed his routine pre-flight aircraft inspection and flying preparation. He smiled to the ground staff through the plane window and waved them goodbye. By the time the plane touched down back at Kunming Changshui International Airport, it was 1 AM the next day. Pablo stepped out of the cockpit in his captain suit donning a cap and a wide smile. Saluting the crew, he just completed his flying career with perfection.
Speaking of why he decided to leave the sky business, Pablo frankly put it that twenty years of flying was indeed precious. And yet, a richer and more colorful life needs time and energy to invest. He chose to end his flying career at the right moment. What he accumulated in the past will help to kick start the new chapter of his life. Pablo was thrilled and grateful for the ending and the new start ahead, “For me, Lucky Air is like a lucky gate."
In his view, coming to China and joining Lucky Air introduced him to a brand-new environment that allowed him to get to know other cultures. In Yunnan, he had close encounters with the local ethnic minorities. It brought him various insights and inspiration which will keep on influencing him later.
For the next step, Pablo will devote himself to music and public welfare. He will set up his own music studio in Kunming. In July next year, he will tour around China and host recitals in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Wuhan, and etc. Moreover, the environmental charity project Better Life that he has been a big part of will also launch in Dali.
Lucky Air: Inclusive multi-cultural environment that Encourages Well-Rounded Development of the Employees
Pablo is an outstanding captain, an excellent musician and a generous humanist. At Lucky Air, there are many more versatile people. "Lucky Air welcomes people of different nationalities, races and cultural backgrounds. Diverse cultures can trigger more creative sparks. We also encourage our employees to travel the world. In addition to their own professional skills, they can explore other areas.”
